Gordon are the Tooheys New Plate Champions!

The mighty Highlanders have defeated Manly 28 - 20 to claim the Tooheys New Plate Championship. In a well constructed win the Highlanders were dominant throughout the match and played some superb rugby to clinch the win. In perfect conditions at the Sydney Football Stadium the Highlanders swept in for 4 tries. It was champagne rugby and caps off an exciting Tooheys New Shute Shield campaign.

The Highlanders captain Ed Gower lifted the two trophies in a fitting end to their Finals series which sees David Harvey remain as the top points scorer and Mark Preston as the most prolific try scorer in the Competition.
